Dates

The DMV Hackathon takes place in person on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Fuse at Mason Square, Arlington, VA. Hacking runs from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM ET. All projects must be submitted on this Devpost page by 7:00 PM ET — no late submissions.

Eligibility

Open to everyone 18 and older — students, professionals, and first-time hackers alike. You must be registered for the event and present in person to participate and win. Organizing team members and judges are not eligible for prizes.

Project and Submission Requirements

• Teams of 1–4. Every team member must be listed on the Devpost submission.
• All project code must be written during the hackathon. Open-source libraries, public APIs, AI coding tools, and boilerplate are allowed — projects built before the event are not.
• One submission per team; each person may be on only one team.
• Submissions must include a project description, a public code repository, and a demo (working link or short video).
• Judges and mentors will select a top 10 to present live at 7:30 PM. Presenting teams must have at least one member on stage.
• All work must be your own or properly licensed; you retain full ownership of what you build.
• Organizers may disqualify submissions that violate these rules or the code of conduct.

Code of Conduct

All attendees — hackers, mentors, judges, sponsors, and staff — are expected to help make this a harassment-free, welcoming event for everyone. Be respectful in all interactions. Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior of any kind will not be tolerated, and violators may be removed from the event and disqualified. Report any concerns to event staff or the organizing team immediately.
