About the challenge

The DMV Hackathon is a one-day, in-person build sprint bringing together the DMV's builders, students, and founders for a day of shipping real projects. Hosted by Salam Consulting, Oasis Hill, and Riwayah AI at Fuse at Mason Square in Arlington, it's open-ended: bring an idea, form a team, and build anything — AI tools, apps, community tech — in one focused day. Whether it's your first hackathon or your fifteenth, you'll leave with a demo, new teammates, and a shot at prizes judged by a panel of founders and engineers from across the region.

Get started

  1. Register on this page (and confirm your event RSVP if you haven't).
  2. Show up July 25 at Fuse at Mason Square — come with a team of up to 4, or join one at the morning team-formation session.
  3. Build all day, then submit your project on this Devpost page before the deadline.
  4. Demo for the judges and stick around for awards.

  • A public repo link (GitHub or similar) with the code written during the event
  • A demo — a link to a working deployment, or a video (max 3 minutes) showing the project in action
  • Team members — all teammates added to the Devpost submission (teams of 1–4)

All code must be written during the hackathon. Pre-existing libraries, APIs, and boilerplate are fine — pre-built projects are not. You'll present a short live demo to judges after the deadline.
