Introduction

Everything you need on hack day: submit your project on this Devpost page before 7:00 PM. Questions during the event? Find a mentor or staff member on-site, or email the organizing team via the contact address on this page.

Tools and Technologies

Build with whatever stack you like. If you're deciding, these are free to start and fast to ship with: Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini for AI features and coding help; Cursor or VS Code for your editor; Vercel, Netlify, or Replit for instant deployment; Supabase or Firebase for a quick backend; v0 or Lovable for rapid UI. Bring your own laptop and chargers — WiFi is provided at the venue.

Inspiration

Not sure what to build? Think about problems worth solving close to home: tools for community organizations, education and learning apps, productivity for small businesses, civic tech for the DMV area, or an AI agent that automates something tedious in your own life. The best one-day projects are narrow and finished — a small thing that works beats a big thing that doesn't.
